 
This page was created with the intention to serve as the Cat Fancy public
utility; not exactly to blame anyone, but to share experiences lived in
the Cat World: good and bad ones. In 20 years breeding, we have
lived a lot of experiences to share.
In the adventure to get new
lines in a very rare and difficult division, we, breeders, deal with a lot of
situations: the ones that the experiences are marvelous; breeders really
good, but that, unfortunately, something wrong, and out of the breederīs
control, happens with some cats; and the ones that has real
intention to cheat their fellow.
Faults can happens in
the development of any kitten, as we breed a
Breed that is totally contrary of what Nature has planned for the
felines. And we surely knows that there are NO perfect cat, some
little fault is common - and the experienced ones knows that happen
even in the very nice kittens. The most experienced
breeders knows how hard itīs to breed the Silvers & Goldens, a
division with lots of poligenes, and with a very restrict gene pool. The
same happens with the Lilacs and Chocolates, a very hard group to work
with, too.
But the point is not really the
faults and/or problems that can happens with the cats - but the major point is: the ethic, the posture,
the sincerity and the honesty of the breeders.
And also of the purchaser.
People seems to have forgotten that
the cats are a pure and inexhaustible font of love, and should be
approaching people - not to be the reason of fights and disputes. To use
the cats to cheat someone, goodness, thatīs the end of the world,
indeed.
But not all problems means a bad intention. No cat is perfect, we all
have babies that are not perfect. The Standard describes a ideal cat, but
all the cats could be a little better someway. We are not perfect, itīs
not fair to expect perfection from them, in despite of a good breeder is
always looking for better. :o)
So, understand every situation, with discernment & wisdom, placing
ourselves in the other place, with honesty, sincerity, and observation is a good
clue to avoid problems. If some happens, the good breeder will deal with
the other part in a nice and comprehensive way, and always with honesty.
And it
must to come from the both parts. All the problems has a solution, if the
both parts are sensitive and honest.
But, sometimes we deals with really
bad people, whom the intention itīs to cheat and deceive itīs fellow. Not always we are warned with who we are dealing
with; likely, we are trustful
that we are dealing with nice people, but we end being victims of real very
bad 'breeders'; or kittens sellers, or real cheaters. The worst itīs that we knows only after to have been through a dream - or a
nightmare.
A honest breeder will
be open to speak about the good points of the kitten offered, and also
will tell about the points that could be better, or some fault that the
kitten have; the purchaser wonīt
have any surprise, and is given to him the right to know what he is
getting - and he will have the choice of decision. A honest seller will not
be hidding anything from the purchaser, giving the option to the
purchaser to choose for this very same baby or wait for another one.
A honest breeder will accept to refund the money paid for a kitten that
can not be delivered, by the impossibility of the breeder: if the kitten
dies or get very sick. If requested, itīs the duty of the breeder to
provide the proves for the new owner: the cat itīs not theirs
anymore. And the Purchaser has the right to choose between to wait for
another baby, or even have his money back, as he has paid for that baby
that is no longer available.
If the buyer chooses to wait for a new baby, a good breeder will also
give the preference to the buyer waiting - the buyer has paid for the
kitten already, he have the priority. Itīs not far to let the breeder
waiting forever, while new buyers get babies before who came (and paid)
firstly.
If something happens
with the baby after the deliver, a good buyer will also offer all the
copies of the vet reports to the seller, as they need to see what could
be happened with the kitten.
I believe that good talks and open
relationship, together with common sense and respect for the other part
would avoid the most problems we see in the Cat Fancy.
But, sometimes, we
deals with really bad people, and I think that is very
important to share our experiences with our fellow breeders: differently
than the normal life, where we do have the authorities to contain abuses,
in the Cat Fancy we face the difficulty to take the proper
actions, by the distance between the both parts, the high cost of
attorneys and judicial procedures, (specially when it implicate in
international Courts), and the high expenses with the cat itself,
situations that benefit who intend to takes advantage of the distance and impotence of the Purchaser
and gives some kind of "protection" to the cheaters behave
freely in itīs " business", turning the dreams of the damaged
part in a forever nightmare.
To the damaged part when dealing with a cheater, the proper judicial actions are more costly than the
cat itself, the stress and emotional frazzle is already huge by the
catīs situation and all the discussion trying to solv the problem with
the breeder (that has no intention to solv anything at all), and the addition of the judicial actions use to takes
the few energy still left.
Sharing the good and bad experiences we have been lived, the
good breeders warn other victims of these kind of people that, hopefully,
will be saved of such pain in the life. Thatīs why I have decided to
create this page, for the Cat Community knows what I have experienced
with some breeders abroad.

itīs a public utility. If I would have readed something like this when I was looking for my babies, surely I would not be in
troubles, and loosing thousand dollars/euros.

- I was evidently - and documental proven - cheated. I
was charged for 2.000 euros for a Silver boy, with a very crocked face,
with only one testicle, and proven sterile. I pick up the kitten in the
Milan Airport (as she gave an excuse for donīt receive me in her home),
after wait for her for more than 2 hours, as she was very late, to the
point that I was almost loosing my flight to Paris. Detail: she knew the
time of my flight departure.
She refused me to replace the boy, after
to have promised me another for one year of waiting - in the time of
deliver him for me, she just refused, under dozens totally different -
excuses: first, her husband didnīt allow her to replace the cat; then,
she alleged that "I didnīt like the cat"; after, she told that
if New Mac did have one testicle and it is genetic, the other cat also
will have! After months of discussion & stress, and after to have told that I would be
showing him at the Milan FIFe Show, she sent me the less half money back
-
the other half would be given when I return the boy. But, when the time
of my travel was near, she just invented a Contract of penalties of 5.000
euros, and other absurds: I should be PROVING that the monorchid factor
is genetic! This is only a resume, the e-mails, vets reports,
tests, ultrasounds and pictures are available upon request. She
still has blamed me all over her 'friends'.
THE
END: the
cat stays with me for a while, he has gained the double weight, is very
well cared and very affectionate, and will be placed in a very loving
home soon, after to have the testicle removed.

required to reserve a specific kitten.
Sorry but we WILL NOT hold kittens without a deposit.

I was stupid enough to send for the the full payment of the kitten,
1500,00 dollars more 50 dollars in advance (without to be asked) for the
documentation for travel to USA. When I was there to a CFA show, I tryied
to call her, but she didnīt attend me. So, my friend called her to me,
and asked about the baby, but she refused to send him alleging the age -
12 weeks old. After some week of my arrival, and after donīt get any
answer from her, I heared that my kitten - died. No tests, no vet
reports, no justification, nothing - he just 'died'. Well, asked my money
back, and new refusal. After a lot of stress, she agreed to send me my
money, and what a surprise: when I was to the Bank to take my money, only
HALF money returned, under the excuses above; ITīS HER POLICY, THE
DEPOSIT WONīT BE REFUNDED! IF I wanted, I could have another baby, but
she also didnīt have none, and wanted to pet out the parents of my
'dead' kitten. After several months, I received pictures of a baby, but
happens that in the time of deliver, she just refused to send. No
explanation at all, she just refuse to send. I insisted to have my money
back, and she just sent few more dollars - and kept the rest.
THE
END -
she still keeps part of my money, donīt answer my messages. And still
blamed me with other of her 'friends'.
